Specialised Myotherapy Treatment That Addresses The Root Cause Of Your Discomfort And Restores Your Body's Natural Movement
Are you living with persistent muscle pain that just won't go away?

Maybe you've tried massage after massage, only to experience temporary relief before the pain creeps back.

Or perhaps doctors have prescribed medication without ever identifying what's actually causing your discomfort.

I understand your frustration.

Living with chronic pain affects everything: your mood, your sleep, your work, your relationships.

But muscle pain is rarely just about the muscles.

My specialised Myotherapy Treatment goes beyond simply addressing symptoms. I target the underlying causes of your pain, working to restore proper function and movement throughout your entire body.

One of the powerful techniques I incorporate into my Myotherapy sessions is dry needling — a highly targeted method used in conjunction with other hands-on therapies to release deep muscular tension and reactive trigger points that might not respond fully on their own.

Trigger points are hyperirritable knots within muscle fibers that can cause referred pain, limit movement, and disrupt normal function. These tight bands often develop from muscle overload, trauma, or stress and can persist for years if left untreated.

The result: long-lasting relief and improved mobility that helps you get back to living the active, comfortable life you deserve.

Why Most Pain Treatments Fail
Many traditional approaches to pain management fall short because they focus exclusively on symptoms.

They might provide temporary relief, but the pain returns because the root cause remains untreated.

Take medications for example. They can mask pain temporarily, but they do nothing to address what's creating that pain in the first place.

The same goes for basic massage. It feels good in the moment, but without addressing structural and movement issues, you'll find yourself back on the table again and again.

Your body deserves better than band-aid solutions.

It deserves comprehensive care that recognises how all your systems work together.

That’s why I incorporate advanced modalities like dry needling into my Myotherapy sessions — never as a standalone treatment, but always as part of an integrated approach to musculoskeletal health. This technique allows me to work directly on dysfunctional muscular trigger points — the knots and tight bands of muscle that can cause referred pain and limit your movement.

Dry needling is most effective when used to deactivate specific myofascial trigger points, especially when other techniques haven’t provided sufficient relief. By directly targeting these areas alongside other Myotherapy methods, it disrupts the pain cycle and stimulates the muscle to relax and heal.

Introducing Customised Myotherapy Treatment
Myotherapy is a specialised form of physical therapy that focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal pain.

As a certified Myotherapist with over 20 years of experience, I've helped thousands of clients find relief from ongoing pain conditions.

My approach combines hands-on techniques with movement assessment and rehabilitation strategies to create lasting improvements in how your body functions.

During your Myotherapy session, I'll:

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of your pain patterns and movement restrictions
  • Identify the root causes of your discomfort
  • Apply precise manual therapy techniques — such as soft tissue release, joint mobilisation, and dry needling — to improve tissue quality and release tension
  • Provide personalised movement strategies to maintain your improvements
  • Create a holistic treatment plan that supports long-term healing

Dry needling, when used appropriately within a broader Myotherapy session, can be one of the most effective tools for treating myofascial trigger points. These are hyperirritable spots within a taut band of skeletal muscle that can refer pain to other areas of the body.

By inserting a fine, sterile needle into these trigger points as part of your Myotherapy treatment, we can stimulate a local twitch response in the muscle, which resets muscle tone, reduces pain, and restores normal function.

I use dry needling specifically when muscular trigger points are contributing to a client’s pain or movement dysfunction. These trigger points can be stubborn, but by targeting them with this technique alongside other hands-on methods, we can accelerate healing and restore optimal function.

This combination of active and passive therapeutic approaches allows me to create truly customised treatment plans for each person I work with — including advanced techniques like dry needling, used in synergy with other Myotherapy therapies, for those who can benefit from it.

My passion lies in helping people overcome pain that has persisted despite trying other approaches.

I believe that when we address the whole person, not just their symptoms, remarkable healing becomes possible.

The Inner Outer Health Difference
At Inner Outer Health, I offer a unique approach to care that sets us apart from typical massage outlets and medical clinics.

Here's what makes my approach unique:

Professional Myotherapists
I bring specialised training in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment, allowing me to identify and address complex pain patterns that other practitioners might miss.

That includes the safe and effective application of dry needling — an advanced intervention integrated into my Myotherapy sessions with anatomical precision and experience.

Holistic Approach
I recognise that your pain doesn't exist in isolation. It's connected to your movement patterns, stress levels, daily activities, and overall health.

My treatment considers all these factors — and dry needling is only used in conjunction with other Myotherapy techniques when it’s the right fit for your specific condition and goals.

Trigger points don’t resolve on their own — and when they are deeply embedded or inactive for years, dry needling can reactivate the muscle’s natural healing mechanisms as part of your comprehensive session.

Individualised Sessions
Every body is different, so every treatment plan should be too. I tailor each session to your specific needs, goals, and response to treatment.

If dry needling is used, I’ll explain what to expect before, during, and after the session — and make sure you feel comfortable and informed throughout the process.

The result is a truly personalised experience that evolves as your body changes and improves.
How Myotherapy Can Help You
Myotherapy can provide significant benefits for people experiencing:

Reduced Pain
Precise manual therapy techniques release tension in painful tissues and calm overactive pain signals in your nervous system. Dry needling, when combined with other Myotherapy modalities, can be particularly effective for calming irritated nerves and muscle tissues associated with trigger points.

Alleviated Muscle Soreness
Targeted treatment improves blood flow to sore muscles, helping them recover faster from overuse or injury.

Improved Mobility
By addressing restrictions in your soft tissues and joints, Myotherapy helps restore your natural range of motion so you can move freely again.

Injury Prevention
Learning proper movement patterns and addressing minor issues before they become major problems helps you avoid future injuries.

Corrected Posture
Treatment combined with movement education helps correct postural imbalances that contribute to ongoing pain.

Maximum Function
The ultimate goal is to restore your body to its optimal state of function, allowing you to participate fully in all your daily activities.

Many clients experience significant improvement after just a few sessions — and in cases where dry needling is integrated into Myotherapy treatment to deactivate trigger points, the improvements can be even faster and more profound.

What To Expect During Your Treatment
Your Myotherapy session is designed to be thorough, effective, and comfortable.
Here's what you can expect:

  1. Comprehensive Assessment
We'll start with a detailed discussion about your pain, medical history, and goals. I'll observe your posture and movement patterns to identify potential contributors to your discomfort.

  2. Hands-On Treatment
Using a variety of specialised techniques, including dry needling when appropriate and always as part of a holistic Myotherapy session, I'll work to release tension, improve tissue quality, and restore proper function to your muscles, fascia, and joints.

  3. Movement Education
You'll learn specific stretches, exercises, or movement modifications that will help maintain your improvements between sessions.

  4. Personalised Plan
Together, we'll create a treatment plan designed to address both your immediate pain and long-term musculoskeletal health.

If dry needling is included in your treatment, I will first discuss the specific muscles being targeted and gain your permission before proceeding. The procedure involves inserting fine, sterile needles into trigger points, which may cause a quick twitch response or a deep ache — but most clients find the sensation manageable and the results well worth it.
Common Questions About Dry Needling
What is dry needling?
Dry needling is a technique used to target myofascial trigger points — small, tight knots in muscles that can cause pain and restrict movement. It involves inserting a very thin, sterile needle directly into these points to relieve tension and pain. At Inner Outer Health, it is always applied as part of a complete Myotherapy treatment plan.
How does dry needling work?
When the needle penetrates the trigger point, it causes a local twitch response. This helps disrupt the pain cycle, increases blood flow to the area, and resets the muscle to a more relaxed state — especially effective when used alongside other Myotherapy techniques.
What does dry needling do?
It reduces pain, restores range of motion, improves muscle function, and accelerates healing. It's particularly useful for chronic pain, sports injuries, and movement dysfunction caused by tight or overworked muscles — but always as part of a comprehensive Myotherapy session.
Does dry needling hurt?
You may feel a brief twitch, dull ache, or pressure when the needle is inserted. Some soreness may follow for 24–48 hours after treatment — similar to post-exercise soreness — but it usually resolves quickly.
Who shouldn’t get dry needling?
Dry needling is not suitable for people with certain bleeding disorders, compromised immune systems, needle phobia, or women in early pregnancy. I always assess your suitability before including it in your Myotherapy treatment plan.
What happens before, during, and after dry needling?
Before: We review your condition, and I explain the process, risks, and benefits.

During: Needles are inserted into specific trigger points for a short duration as part of your Myotherapy treatment.

After: You may feel sore or tired, but this passes quickly. I’ll provide guidance on aftercare and exercises to support your recovery.
What are the potential side effects?
Minor side effects can include temporary soreness, bruising, or fatigue. Serious complications are extremely rare when dry needling is performed by a qualified practitioner like myself, and always in conjunction with a full Myotherapy session.
Dry needling vs. acupuncture — what’s the difference?
Although both use thin needles, dry needling is based on Western anatomy and targets muscular dysfunction, while acupuncture follows Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and focuses on energy (Qi) flow.
