“Thanks again for our video session, I can’t believe how much I learned from your feedback. I thought that I was looking for a softer pillow and so I believed I needed a down feather pillow but really I needed a low profile pillow so that my neck was not jacked up off the mattress at such a degree (more than I realised) leading to all that neck pain!
For me, that was a key distinction, not just the type of pillow (soft or hard) but the pillow HEIGHT in relation to my anatomy when lying down my mattress. I had shopped around but if the store had a bed to lie on it wasn’t mine, and the pillows were new and still in their packaging so I couldn’t really compare them to what my body needed to be properly aligned.
I also appreciated your tips about how to position myself with my pillow when lying down. Even though I thought I was straight and not straining my neck to one side, I was, which also contributed to waking up with a tight (cramped) neck.
So far, even though it’s only been a week since our video session, I already feel so much better each morning. My body thanks you!”

"About 12 months ago, I had a sleep assessment with Lena. I never thought I had an issue with sleep. On reflection, I noticed that when I would first stand up in the morning my lower back was sore and stiff, and the backs of both legs were very tight. My first few steps would be quite painful in my feet and, it would take me a little while to ‘warm up’.
The sleep assessment helped articulate these issues, and as soon as I laid down on the bed for the assessment Lena pinpointed my issues.
We spoke about positioning and had great fun trialling a whole lot of different pillows. One pillow stood out clearly over the rest and, it was certainly not one I would have picked out myself in a shop.
Upon getting it home I found I was able to get into the sleep position Lena recommended very easily and comfortably, and the pillow fit perfectly under my neck to cradle my head. The pillow has been great and my back and legs are no longer sore – I can get up out of bed and stand up straight and start my day with no stiffness or pain.
I was so impressed with the process and outcome that I referred two family members for assessments which they found to be very useful.

"I went to see Lena for a sleep assessment after my wife had one and came home with a new pillow. I tried the pillow and couldn’t believe how comfortable it was.
I suffered a stroke 5 years ago and my movement is impaired. I can get stuck in one position for long periods, especially in bed at night and can feel very stiff when I try to get up in the morning.
Lena’s clinic is fully wheelchair accessible so I was able to get in easily and use the setup she has with a real bed. Lena spent time assessing me and asking lots of questions about my sleep and position in the bed. We discussed the best position for me to lay in and found a fantastic pillow that felt just right for me.
I have been using it for several months and always get a great night’s sleep. If we stay overnight away from home e.g. in a motel and notice how terrible the pillows are and how it impacts the way I feel when I wake up.

Being in my 80s I do go to bed quite early each night and find that I toss and turn a lot and spend the early morning hours unable to sleep. I also wake with pain in my hip sometimes.
