Summer holidays can be a wonderfully refreshing time, especially after all that Christmas craziness is over with. We can finally get in some quality me-time, maybe lie on the beach, sleep in, eat well or not, even get a little sun.
Often after a holiday or a break from work, we feel a sense of relaxation and wellbeing that’s hard to find during the busier times of the year. We intend to hang on to it, to work less this year and relax more, but often those resolutions begin to slip away as we refocus on our busy lives, and stress begins to creep back in. Sound familiar?
Well, not this year! Hang on to your hard-earned feelings of wellbeing and wellness by making self-care a part of your routine. Keep that stress-related pain and tension at bay! We think regular massage and myotherapy treatments, far from being a luxury, are absolutely essential ways to stay connected to your body, your health, and your best self throughout the year. Not just when you’re on holidays.
Are you a bit confused by the different terms, and unsure of whether Myotherapy, Remedial Massage, or Relaxation Massage is the best option for you this year? We break down the differences below!
When booking in for Massage or Myotherapy, many clients are unsure of the differences between the various services we offer. In this post I will give a quick rundown of our services and link you the landing page for each one on our website, where the differences are described in much greater depth. That way, you’ll know what’s best for you before you book in!
Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is a clinical and hands-on treatment approach to soft tissue therapy dysfunction or damage. The technique uses gentle massages of the muscle tissue and because it works deeper than a regular relaxing massage, the effects are usually deeper and longer lasting.
Remedial massage is used to prevent as well as heal injuries but ideally remedial massage therapy is used as a preventative form of treatment that works by removing pain and dysfunction, relieving stress and creating balance in the body, generally promoting a sense of deep relaxation and well-being. However, if you have an injury remedial massage therapy is extremely beneficial as it helps in treating a wide variety of muscle and skeletal conditions such as back, neck and shoulder pain, muscle sprains, repetitive strain injuries, whiplash, sciatica, frozen shoulder, tension type headaches and migraines.
